Source: WR Donte Moncrief & CB Bashaud Breeland Drawing Interest From Carolina

He needs to be very safe---if he can't do better than Hall, should he draft a DE?  I like Hubbard, but he is a year away.   We can't draft DEs for this year--even Chubb will struggle.  I would go after Murphy (Washington) in free agency.  Not much else there.

Or do we draft a stud CB and S and plan on blitzing more?

Yeah that was my initial thought as well. Seemed like he was a penalty machine too.

Saldy enough, he is probably still an upgrade over Worley.

I think the word on him was he got victimized a lot when teams were throwing away from Norman.

That can be a good way to improve or it can be a sign you suck. If he signs here, I hope it's the former.

Moncrief would be nice as long as we don’t pay over 5 million. I know the colts QB situation since the lucky injury has been pretty bad but the guy wasn’t even putting up garbage time stats.

Someone like Breeland will more than likely get overpaid by the Browns or Jets.

If Peppers re-signs, I think we are good at DE. I am making an assumption on Hall being ready to be in the rotation, but I think that's a decent assumption. With Addison and Peppers, we just need Horton, Hall and Cox to spell them effectively. I only see one DE in this draft that would be a surefire better option and he's going in the top 5, so not really an option. Wasting a pick on a DE who won't doing anything makes no sense in such a bad DE class compared to next year.

I agree.  I like the fact that Peppers is a 1-year deal.  Gives us time.  I think if we drafted a really strong CB and S in this draft, and if Butler provides more pressure on the QB than Star did, we could be fine. I saw some hope at times in Cox Jr. last season.

About Breeland:  Norman was great here and went to Washington and had some bad games--they run a lot more man.  I think Breeland is a diamond in the rough.

About Moncrief:  The QB situation in Indy has been bad.  However, he is not as exciting to me as he is to others.  I think he needs the right system.

I would take both of those dudes. Let’s get some guys in here with the physical skills to win matchups and trust our coaches to put them in position to succeed.

Moncrief is a freak and the colts staff was utterly incompetent.

Breeland is a freak athlete as well...again...Incompetent staff. If the price is right these could be really good signings.

I said weeks ago that Moncrief would be my number 1 target,  and what do you know. Let's go Hurndawg.

If not Moncrief who has homerun potential, Jeff Janis from the Packers who is also a FA.

Moncrief would be a great back-up/#2 WR.

Everyone screams for a true #1 when they ignore just having a great oline for pass protection is what Cam only really needs to turn WRs into above average.

This WR group would be Cam's best since being here imo:

Funchess, Smith, Moncrief, Samuel, Byrd

Funchess is going to go off this year.

Smith will be the long bomb specialist with okay stats.

Moncrief good rotational player with speed and speed who could surpass Smith as the future WR across from Funchess.

Samuel will be the gadget player that will have about equal amount of receiving and rushing yards.

Byrd rotational player, return specialists, home run specialist.  He will continual to grow and probably peak this season. He is of the John Brown WR mold.
