The Panthers  desperately need to upgrade their WR’s so Smith is a part of the answer. Ginn’s speed was sorely missed last year. Opposing defenses had no fear against the Panthers with no deep threat and just stacked the box to shut down an already anemic run game that features Cam as the main RB. 

Smith is a piece of the puzzle but the Panthers are not finished overhauling the WR corps yet. I think we will see more changes and hopeful upgrades before The first game in September. I think this offense is going to be fun to watch if Cam can stay healthy.

Agree with others that say he's not our WR1. He will be a solid contributor and be a faster, more productive Cotchery. 

He was misused in Phill's WCO, so a better read on him is in Baltimore which is closer to our system. Veteran QB in BAL vs shaky or young QB play in SF and Philly....We have the veteran stable QB.

Not saying Smith will put up 1000 yards, but I do think 40/650/5TDs is realistic.
