Can't exactly ask real life to wait.

Are people honestly expecting a guy who's been told his parents might be gone soon to think "ya know, I really should make sure those complete strangers on the internet get their football news before I tend to this other stuff"?

No one here is important enough to ask Sig to give us that kind of priority in his life.

Being online doesn't mean he's leas deserving of basic human respect.

Arguing about football is one thing. Being mean to a guy who's looking at losing both parents at once is another.

There are cyber communities and folks in those communities get to know one another through the sharing of football perspectives.  That leads to sharing other things as our usernames and profile pictures provide anonymity--that does not mean to suggest we dehumanize the experiences of members of this community .  Nor is it common to share personal experiences--but that is not to suggest it is prohibited. Fortunately, we have been invaded with some Newbs who are blessed with some supreme, innate cyber-omnipotence and are burdened with the task of correcting all who do not clearly abide by their technological mandates to sterilize personalities and emotions.  To understand the internet is to rule it--to police it with a certainty of correctness and honor.  I hope Brooklyn understands how much he helped correct the error of our ways today and to expose us to internet protocol from the warm confines of his mother's basement.
