The franchise tag is mostly used just to extend negotiating time.

You do realize, until the player signs the tag, further negotions can't continue. There was never any intention for Norman to play under the franchise tag.

The last offer from the Norman camp showed the panther camp that they were just too far apart and numbers to retain Norman.

the other hypothetical b******* that you listed is a moot point as far as the Norman decision is concerned.

So the tag has never been use to keep a player until you could replace him or trade him so you get something in return .. Instead of nothing..

Yeah the tag has never been used that way..

Cough (*Jarvis Landry*)...

And so you know for future use.. They were still negotiating and Norman hadn't sign that tag.. So you can still negotiate while a player hadn't signed the tag..

Oh wait what about the fact this Same GM we're talking about gave Hardy a 13mil tag.. With either no intent on signing long term or questioning signing him long term..

Lol

Come on PC you're better than this..

I get it WOW, you don't like the majority of the moves Gettleman made. That's for a different thread.

The reason Norman is no longer a Panther, is because of decisions he and his agent made.

And here comes the exaggeration... We are talking about this 1 move only right now right?? So why do you feel the need to go overboard with a false general statement...

You might not be a Gman deciple but you're sure playing by their playbook right now..smh

I so love when someone tries to make a different point, cause he doesn't have any else to stand on.

Simple question . Then why even post about "teams mostly use it this way" when you know they use it another way.. See dumbass you try to make a dumbass point in the 1st place.. Teams "mostly" do it this way.. So the fug what.. If it has been use other ways and been sucessful?? So either you intended to make a dumbass point and got caught .. Or you didn't think ppl will come up with examples of it working in other way and got caught looking stupid..

Now if you want to call ppl intelligence into question try coming up with better arguments then "it's mostly use this way".. Also try not to forget you can still negotiate with a player even thoe he hasn't signed his tag as well..  Mr. Know it all..lol clown..

Look in the mirror dumbass.. That is exactly what you are doing... Are you becoming this fuging stupid or do you think you're slick or something...

You get caught making a dumbass point than you go off on this "Well I know you hate every move Gman did" poo... Really?? Lol Reverse psychology doesn't work when we can read your prior post dumbass!!

Do you need to know what mostly means?

All you're doing now is making a fool of yourself. Bye.

It doesn't fuging matter moron.. Mostly doesn't mean all or only so if it can be use a different way and everybody especially a good GM knows that ... Than your point doesn't make fuging sense idiot...  He could have used it a different way so again he can shoulder some blame for it falling thru or he was a complete moron of a GM who didn't know the tag could be used another way...

But again that can't be true because he used the tag on Hardy not knoweing if he wanted to do a long-term deal ..  This isn't that hard to understand genius...

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
