Congratulations on not knowing how the race goes.. fuging moron...lol

You act like I'm a gentleman Defender. Which once again, just shows you the fool. Norman has no one to blame but himself. He got just what he wanted.

Nah, it’s common for players to not sign the tag right away... They never sit out the entire year. I don’t blame Norman, he was nearing 30 and wanted to be well paid. Getts believed our pass rush was good enough to compensate for the loss. He thought he would find an adequate CB in the draft. Huge gamble.

Man, if I were GM I would definitely let a player control the situation and just sit on my hands waiting until he decides to show up. Yea and I would be a GM for a looooong time too.

I don't think he's is blaming himself he won.. We are the one doing the blaming .  And I choose to blame the guy who team went from a Superbowl squad to a top 10 pick in one dumbass offseason.. I don't care if you're a Gman hater or not.  My opinion on that situation is different from yours...

What, losing Norman made our offense suck too?

No but it made our Secondary go from top 10 to 28th.. The team was built around the defense not the offense.. The offense wasn't suppose to carry the defense ..

In 2015, Josh was the 3rd ranked CB in the NFL in the Panther's zone scheme.  In 2016, he was the 22nd ranked CB in the NFL, splitting zone and man coverage snaps.

Josh is a good Zone CB...not worth top CB money on any day that ends in "y".  That was a stupid contract.  However, it should be noted that if we blitzed as much in 2015 as we did in 2016, I doubt his results would have been better than in Washington. Blitzing is what exposed Worley.  Philly made a good trade because their front four are scary good--and they just added Bennett.  Next season, we are going to talk about how much Worley has improved.  Not really.

So we need a stellar front 7 to run zone coverage. I do not see our front four being that great in 2018 so we may have to blitz.  The CB we add needs to be able to lock up in man coverage.

I think Bradberry can do it if on the #2 WR.  We will see.

How the fug does Norman control the situation?? If he doesn't sign he doesn't play.. No way a player who's has been  5th round paid his career and older is going to sit out a season.  Gman controlled the situation..

my stomach is getting nauseated even stepping into this tired conversation again two years going, i should have just let you guys keep at it. Gman took control of the situation by rescinding the tag, Norman was in control by holding out trying to rip us off like he did the Skins. We had 15M tied up in him and couldnt do anything with it sitting there. Since Norman let it sit for a couple weeks, DG felt it was better to be proactive and take control of the situation. I get it, as fans, we love our players and will stick up for them no matter how ridiculous we sound doing it. Carry on. Anyone crazy enough to think losing Norman is the reason we dropped 9 games or even 5 or 6 or 3 is fugging nutz.

Again our offense was built around the defenses..Not the other way around... Less TO, Less short field opportunities= less offensive efficiency... Oh and let's remember while letting the defense get worse.. Gman didn't fix the offense or improve it.. You can't expect your offenses to all of a sudden become shootout worthy when your tackles are the same guys who just got exposed in the superbowl..

The Panthers wanted to keep Norman but not over pay and and be forced to release him down the road anyway

Norman always feels like he has something to prove being a late round pick and over looked as one of the best corners. He wanted to stay with the Panthers but wanted a HUGE pay day maybe even be the highest paid CB in the league.  He was playing hardball by not signing the tag which i think he would have signed and played on

and that's how it should have played out letting him play 2016 on the tag and not resigning or tagging  him 2017 if a long term deal couldn't be reached
