Panthers trade Worley for Torrey Smith

Get him through trade instead of letting him hit the open market and possibly getting more.  Why so much hate?  Could be rejuvenated here much like Ginn was.

I don't think people understand how badly we missed Ginn last year.  Torrey Smith still has the wheels to take the top off a defense.  There is no reason to think he can't fill the Ginn role.  He's a couple years younger than Ginn

For the better part of two seasons, the Huddle hated Worley except Saca.

Now that he's gone for a speedy deep threat, they're mad? Jesus Christ, make up your fuging minds you mindless clowns.

They swapped a poo DB for a poo wr and lost 4.5 mil in cap space while doing it.

Thats bad.

I’m convinced that if the Panthers win the Super Bowl next year that the people that hate Hurney (which is a decent amount of posters here) will still find something to gripe about.

The window is open to win a Super Bowl and Smith can help do that. You have to give up something to get something.

Fact of the matter is this, Hurney is the GM whether any of you like it or not. This staff, even with their contracts, has one year to prove themselves to the new owner. They’re making moves to win a Super Bowl.

I understand hesitancy with Hurney part deux but some of the irrational hatred of everything the man does is just utterly ridiculous.

There’s plenty of room on the Seahawks or Rams bandwagon for the malcontents here. Buckle up and support your squad.

Hmmm, don't know exactly how to feel about this trade. I'm optimistic about it though the contract is a little rough. Maybe once things become fully clear and all the details come out we will see a reason to eating that contract instead of waiting until FA.

I'm less upset about losing Worley and more upset about absorbing the contract of a guy who would have been cheaper on the open market.

Of course if he were to hit the market he would need to be convinced to sign here, which could be why we pulled the trigger because Hurney doesn't have faith that he could convince a FA WR to join the squad.

I don't know how I feel about this honestly. I think I'm too biased against Hurney to consider it a good move.

Pretty much how the majority of the Huddle feels, but at the same time, they hate Hurney so much they won't admit it.

I love it. Worleys lack of production can be easily replaced. Trading for Torrey looks bad on paper since Philly had to cut him, but this basically gave us first dibs instead of having to risk losing him to some random team who would pay more. This gives Cam veteran speed and keeps Worley off the field. Win win in my eyes.

Worley was a pass interference machine at times and got benched a few times. Seemed to be in the coaches doghouse. Two underachieving players swapping teams. Not a bad deal for either side. Guess the Eagles are expecting to lose Darby.

Umm, okay. They'll gain that back by releasing Russell Shepard. NEXT................

And they can renegotiate his contract. You know that right? We can LITERALLY cut him with no dead money. You guys kill me.
