Nope. I woulda liked the trade a little less in that scenario. At least this year’s 5th rounder could be good. Might get another Norman or Hardy. Or another stinker and it doesn’t matter whether it was Worley or a 5th, and the new 5th would be cheaper than Worley anyway so still a win.

Exactly. We know what we have in Worley.

I had a feeling Hurney was going to have to trade for a WR due to the FA crop being weak, besides Watkins & Robinson, who we couldn't afford. I just hopes he didn't mortgage our future by trading away picks.

Yall are acting like Torrey smith is 38. He turned 29 in January so he'll be 29 for this season. He's only a few months older than Cam.

Ginn was 30 when he had his best season with us in 2015. Ginn was 32 when he had the best season of his career with the Saints last season. Steve Smith was 32 when he posted 1394 receiving yards and 7 receiving touchdowns in Cams rookie season in 2011. A WR getting close to 30 isnt the end of the universe.

God so many huddlers are are whinier than 12 year old girls

And a bunch of Nostradamuses on here were anointing Russell Shepard as the end all be all in the offseason and training camp. So I'll take your opinions on WRs with a gigantic grain of salt.

You seriously have to question the intelligence of Panthers fans griping about Torrey Smith being 29 when soon to be 33 year old Ted Ginn played a key role in the Saints beating us 3 times in one season last year.

Yeah, if the dude can produce for us and help Cam, I don’t care how old he is.

Age is not the issue, the issue is he is not really that good anymore. If we traded for him to be the #2 WR, it is not a huge improvement.

If we traded for him to be the #3 WR, and be a vet leader ok now we're talking.

This trade is still a undecided right now because we have to see what Hurney plans to do at WR either in FA or Draft.

Thoughts on the Trade:

1. Gives a solid deep threat who will be great in the locker room.

2. No guarantee that we would be able to get him in FA or what his price would be. The past few deals these guys are getting are extremely high.

3. Keeps in tact the possibility to get a 3rd round comp when Norwell leaves. This is one reason I don't see us picking up any FAs this year. I feel like we will just go after guys that are cut not high priced FA because that would us essentially trading a 3rd round pick and paying big money to a guy.

4. I liked the Worley/Bradberry combo and thought that Worley was improving so that is hard to deal with but if we are able to pick up a solid CB I would not have a problem with this at all.

5. Seymour looked good and split time with Worley last year. We also have Corn Elder and Cole coming back.

6. Good trade, let's see what's next

almost the entirety of Gins career was garbage until he got to the Panthers.. and ripped it up in 2015. And is doing even better on the Saints.

Smith has much better career stats, has won 2 Super Bowls .. sounds like an upgrade to me.

In fact, its a massive upgrade considering we had absolutely nothing in terms of WRs who could get open down the field last season. And at 5 mil thats a hell of alot cheaper than a high profile FA WR that would command upwards of 10 mil.

Like you said, it's undecided right now. It's March dude.

If he sucks I'll admit it. But I was one of the Panthers fans that bought into Dave Gettleman trying to replace Ted Ginn with Shepard in 2017 and Underwood in 2014, and you see how that worked out for us. Let it play out.

I like the way you think.

We are better at receiver with this trade.

Worley is replaceable. This is a win.

I wasn't a fan of the FA WR's, but we could have waited a little longer before we made this trade. No telling what vet WR's will get cut in the coming days.
