Panthers trade Worley for Torrey Smith

I didn't realize Torrey had any value.

Watkins, Funchess, Torrey is a big upgrade over last year.

Funchess, Torrey, with no real #1 is not much of an upgrade.

Agreed. If we land Watkins that would be huge, if we don’t sign anyone we still don’t have a real 1

Just a question.... why do all of you want Watkins over ARob?  Watkins hasn't done much in the NFL and really didn't play a prototypical WR role in college.

That's fine, instead we converted him into a player at a position of greater need.

Both dudes only have one really good year in 4.  Robinson is coming off an ACL so he's a big question mark.  Watkins, the year after he broke his foot, was utterly pedestrian last year on a good passing team.

This is pretty tough to give up a young, cheap corner who has shown flashes of being a very legit starter for an old WR who at best has been mediocre over his career.

Let's hope Torrey can ball out though and prove this trade was worth it
