CAP is definitely a capable runner, his problem is with his pass pro. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t get more of a chance with the 1s this preseason

My issue is his sample size is so small.  While he has produced when given the opportunity are we going to bank on him as the other back in our backfield.  My understanding, in Turner's offense, is the power back is likeTolbert.   RB/FB.   I am not sure whether CAP can handle that role.

If he stays he should be the first back on the field when we use a 2 back set.  Whether rookie or Free Agent or someone on the roster will have to beat him out.   If he gets beat out than he will be a cut casualty when we drop to the 53.

I would cut Fozzy and draft a RB in round 3 or round 5 (maybe trade up in the 4th).

The QB is the one making the decision.  The QB needs to hold the ball firmly until he makes his decision.  Any fumble due to any variance in that procedure is the QBs fault, not the RBs.

Neither of these statements are excuses for a QB on a fumble on a read-option hand-off.

I remember the plays. They weren’t long read handoffs. CAP screwed them up.

I feel like we'll draft a RB, and depending on which type of RB we draft, determines who stays.  If we draft a true Stewart replacement like a Nick Chubb, could see CAP being gone or minimum play again.  But if we draft more of a swiss army knife type guy (either of the NC State RBs for instance), could see Fozzy getting the boot and CAP having a larger role for sure.

All handoff fumbles, be it read option or conventional, are always credited to the quarterback because posession of the football isn’t completed by the running back. It doesn’t mean quarterbacks are to blame for 100% of the fumbles.

2016 wasn't a stellar year either...and if I remember right, CAP had a couple of fumbles in 2015 as well...wasn't one in the playoffs against  Seattle?  I think we recovered them both.  I don't think those could be placed on Cam.
