King Earl on the block?

Earl Thomas would, without a doubt be worth it to our defense.

However, he openly appealed to the Cowboys to "come get him" last year and the year before contemplated retirement after his injury.

I don't see the Panthers being his dream destination to keep playing for years down the road.

LOL @ the Huddle

"We haz no DBs!" they said

""All our safeties are old and washed up!" they said

"We've neglected the safety positions for years!" they said

"Look at all these other teams making moves while we sit and do nothing!" they said

Then the 28 year old best FS in the NFL is possible on the trade block and all of a sudden they're all...

Welp this will be his 9th year in the NFL and he'll have a 10.4 million dollar cap hit.

Man we have to manage with a two year extension move the money around Cap hit more on next year something along that line.

No thanks not giving up draft picks so another team can rebuild and reload

I thought we were in s win now mode do you see our current make up our two premiere players are in their prime. If Adams got two years at fourty lol we can't give him four at 28.

People have to wake up and realize that you are trading for a name.   King Earl is more like a prince now.

Just like i said with Sherman.  A full physical and full workout would be the only way I even discuss the possibility.

I got s article for you ......

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/107776522

says AP best safety last year after the injury. Y'all bugging he's a key cog to help us because if we don't get the pass rushers we need we'll still have coverage it's s win win help the De and Cb's immensely.

2nd rounder plus Butler. He is still an absolute beast regardless of the injury. Best Cover S in the league. He'd take so much pressure off of our entire secondary and Luke.

Yup gotta be aggressive I see Philly making upgrades to stay in the hunt after winning the chip.

You know what a red flag is? Colin fuging Jones and Mike Adams. That injury should lower his value. I'd said a 3rd and conditional 5th next year. Besides Derwin James, ain't nobody worth drafting at safety that can step in day one. #TheDraftIsNotTheAnswer

Its not the answer for us I believe this as well.

Hell I'd give up a 2nd for him.

Not like Hurney would make it count anyway.

Thank you for being consistent.

For the amount of people that sit here and bash Hurney all day about how freaking bad he is at everything including drafting in rounds 2-7, there shouldn’t be a single person who is against trading a 2nd rounder away for someone like ET

You know what's sad about this? Colin Jones and Adams actually played better than Coleman. Who was recently cut.

I'm not here to argue and I understand the huddle has their panties in a bunch but giving up a third for a player coming off an injury like Thomas' is idiotic. Anything higher than a 5th rounder would be risky. The draft has several safeties that could plug and play for us.

Smart thing would be to let the Thomas situation play out. More than likely teams will field calls for him and if the Seahawks ask way too much for him I doubt teams will bite. More than likely he'll be cut or traded for for peanuts. Bennett was acquired for less than what you're suggesting and arguably Bennett was another key piece to that Seattle Defense.

If we miss out on Thomas it's not the end of the world there are other safeties that will be available via draft, trade or free agency. So chill. Honestly WR, DE,  and O line are more pressing needs.

I feel like this thread should've gotten more traction.  I think Earl Thomas makes a ton of sense, especially if we aren't going to go after Norwell or Star (which it obviously looks like we won't be able to afford either).  Plus the future of Peppers looking murky.... I would be 100% down getting Earl.  I think both Seattle and he want to move on

I think it didn't because reports are that the Seahawks are probably not gonna end up trading him unless they get a really stellar offer.

Yeah, but what constitutes a really stellar offer? Maybe a third and next years 6th?  Since it's looking more and more like he won't be in Seattle after this year, I would think that would be a fair enough asking price

Unknown.

Things might have changed with the release of Sherman.
