Because the Seahawks are hitting the reset button. Earl Thomas has already pretty much said he's not re-signing with Seattle and he's a free agent after this season. Chancellor will be released next year.

They are hitting reset because guys aren't playing as well as they are getting paid to.

Third round pick. Deal. This team has too many holes to think that Hurney is gonna fill all of them through the draft. It’s just not gonna happen. Sign Robertson, trade for Thomas...draft well...this team will be back in the super bowl if that happens.

Big contract but he'd be a huge addition to our D.

Big contract?

He makes 8.5 mill in 2018 and then is a free agent in 2019.

If we’re going “all in” this year it’s something you do. One of if not the best safety in the league.

With only a year left on his deal I’m not sure how much Seattle expects to get back but trade for ET and sign one of the big 2 and WR and call it a offseason

Or Seattle knows Thomas has one year left on his contract and he doesn’t want to resign there so they’re going to try and get something for him.

He did tell the Cowboys to "come get me" last season

I think most sensible huddlers know Thomas is coming off a serious injury. That alone is a red flag. If it was a healthy Thomas then heck yes. This version. Eh.. Rather draft one.

You know what a red flag is? Colin fuging Jones and Mike Adams. That injury should lower his value. I'd said a 3rd and conditional 5th next year. Besides Derwin James, ain't nobody worth drafting at safety that can step in day one. #TheDraftIsNotTheAnswer

How much is Gano on the hook for this year? prob at least 4 or 5 right depending on the structure and bonus amount?  If we are willing to throw that much at Gano then Jesus Christ make a trade and get Earl Thomas. Also, Kalil is on the books for like 8 or 9 right? Another option for some savings.

This instantly makes your DBs better and your D-line better. If we do something like this, and draft a SS, then you can afford to leave Worley at CB 2, you can afford not to spend big at DE.

Hmm I thought he got extended recently for over 10/year but I must've been thinking of someone else. I guess it really depends on what we'd have to give up. I'd only want to do it if we can keep him past this year and if the compensation isn't too high. They're probably wanting a 1st in return and I don't think I'd do that. He definitely is a top 5 safety in the league, arguably the best FS, and would fit in our system but the trade compensation has to make sense.
