What do you make of this? Is he trying to argue that CMC can be a bellcow? The backs that D. Newton is comparing McCaffrey to (Ladanian Tomlinson for ex.) were around CMCs height but they on average have at least 10-15 lbs more of muscle on them which makes a huge difference running the ball. They also had a much more physical running style than McCaffrey. Newton is trying to make the arguement that Norv has worked in systems where there is an obvious bellcow back for the most part (ex. Emmit Smith, Ladanian Tomlinson, Frank Gore) . He even alludes to the possiblity we could keep CMC, Cap, and Fozzy and have Christian be the main back.. 

I'm not really sure I have much faith in McCaffrey putting on 10-12lbs more going into next season and all of a sudden starting to run much more physical. I think we're going to make a trade up in the 2nd round trading one of our 3rds to move up and get Chubb or Guice.

If you just drafted an RB in the top 10, you shouldn't have to conduct a desperate search to find a running back to compliment him. Get one for a reasonable price in FA, and let CMC work.

That's what I'm telling everyone we will not be drafting a rb till 3rd maybe 5th rd. They selected CMC in the top 10 for a reason. He will be the workhorse back wait and see!!!!

I’ve been saying for a while now that CMC is the starting back and can be a workhorse in Norvs offense.  He looks and moves like LT did.  The 2 back system in the NFL has faded.  Most teams have gone back to a feature back.

I've started to think this more and more lately. Between the tackles, power runner but has to offer alot receiving too. Made me start thinking a player like Jaylen Samuels might actually be on our board.
