Antoine Cason all over again. Dude was trash last year, and your better off using that 4th on a prospect.

is that worse than spending your 4th on a guy like brandon hogan who never saw the field? or frank alexander? or david gettis? duke robinson? lee ziemba? tony pike? lawrence wilson?

the potential return on mid to late draft picks are especially overrated on this forum

I'm a huge Gettleman supporter and I gotta say this was a terrible trade for the Giants

Also this is terrible for Sammy Watkins hopefuls as now the Rams have enough money to keep both Watkins and Joyner

He went from playing 4-3 OLB from 2013-16 (where he made 2nd-team All-Pro in 2016) to playing 3-4 OLB with the new Rams coaching staff in 2017.

Those two positions are COMPLETELY different animals.  And you're right, dude was trash playing 3-4 OLB.  Wanna know why?  Because he's not a 3-4 OLB.  He's a 4-3 OLB.

In his other 4 years, he had one year lost to injury and 3 years of absolutely solid play (one of those years making All-Rookie and one of the others making 2nd-team All-Pro).

Read the Giants will be running a mix of 3-4 and 4-3 this season.

Indeed, Watkins is a real possibility now. But I think they will spend that cash on Aaron Donald new deal.

Its history--move the fug on .

Interesting perspective.  Sounds like the same perspective of those that put Hurney back in the GM spot.

"He was a total ass clown but that's just history.  Let's move the fug on and bring him back"

Pretty sure message boards are about discussion.  The DG firing is a significant moment in Panthers history and might be looked upon as a real turning point for the franchise: good or bad.  Being able to determine this will depend on DG and Hurney's success-or lack thereof--moving forward.  Therefore, big moves like the one DG made today are relevant to the overall DG/Hurney discussion.

If you have moved the fug on, feel free to bypass threads such as these.

Agree , but Getts was also an ass clown  Now we have  to live with Ass Clown 1 , till a new owner .

I  was totally pissed the way Hurney was "rehired"--the 3 other candidates were more qualified  and they were "played".

Getts should have been fired, and Hurney should not  have been rehired.
