Matt Miller's 7-round mock draft

We know Norwell’s gone so why would they talk about him as a tackle if he was our solution to that? I know he could be our LG but based on this draft, it’s better for us to go G or G/C and have him takeover for Kalil. He’s smart and has the measurements to be a LT. The Gs and G/Cs in this draft are better than the Ts with far less risk. Tell me which T you want at 1.24 and I’ll counter with Hernandez and Daniels at G and G/C and I’ll bet they are far better picks.

I’m OK with some of the project tackles later in the draft but none of them are without risk and are more like Williams take 3 years to develop.

there is always less risk at OG/C they are a dime a dozen...our weakness continues to be at LT  so it needs to be addressed ... we could  take LT every year and be fine because they can always easily transition to OG/C but not the other way around...we could get a good prospect at LT in 2nd or 3rd  round ...is Moton expected to give Kalil a run for his money?

I disagree they are a dime a dozen. We got lucky to get two pro bowl level Gs with a 3rd and UDFA. I see some guys in this class that are head and shoulders better than the tackles. I like Daniels and he could replace Norwell and then Ryan. I think Moton can beat out Matt with no issues if we focus him in practice to replace Matt. If we move him to LG then I don’t know. I think that may be the team’s thoughts. Not sure but we’ll find out.

you are the first to say you think he can beat out Kalil...thats what i am looking for some reasons to believe he can play LT...so what makes you think he can do this?

I think he’s got the size (height, wingspan and hands) to play there, enough quickness and he’s smart. We saw his run blocking and he’s a mailer. It’s the past blocking we just haven’t seen. I know already he’s better run blocking. If they continue to work on the pass blocking then I think he’s got enough to pick it up and let’s be honest he just has to be better than Kalil.

this brings up a question... do you think Kalil knows he sucks and is trying to do something about that during the off season ?... would be interested in his off season workout regimen...

It’s funny because normally you’re on the other side of the equation. If the team is saying he’s a tackle, why do you think he should be a guard?

I think filling the OG spot is easier ...an OT can drop inside  way easier than the other way around... Tired of not addressing the LT situation...  at least RT seems somewhat secure ...I think drafting LT prospect is a better way to go given the flexibility it gives to cover other positions on the line...

Looks like a typical media "needs" draft. I'll bet just about anything that we don't draft four DBs next month. But, I'd LOVE to get Harrison and Hurst in the 2nd and 3rd. That'd be awesome.

You should focus on picks in rounds 1 through 4.  5 through 7 are primarily BPA.  We would have to look at the entire mock draft to see the "I would take instead" players.
