For the #Eagles and FA WR Mike Wallace, it’s a 1-year deal worth $2.5M with incentives, source said. Slides neatly under the salary cap.

Question:  Would you rather Panthers signed Wallace for $2.5 million and not have traded Worley for Torrey Smith?

Answer: uh fug yea

Torrey Smith is a better overall WR and almost 3 years younger but also $2.5 million more expensive. That being said, I agree with you but in fairness to Hurney, he no doubt believed he was getting Breeland before he made that trade.  Now our #2 corner spot is in worse shape than it was a month ago.......for now.

"Following the Eagles model".

Sure thing, Newton.  More like helping the Eagles cap situation so they can improve.

NFL GMs around the league have to be thrilled Hurney is back.  Probably have him on speed dial.

I'm already mourning the inevitable loss of high, 2019 draft picks.

Mike Wallace - WR - Eagles

Eagles signed WR Mike Wallace to a one-year contract.

Rotoworld's No. 10 free agent receiver, Wallace will keep ex-Eagles WR Torrey Smith's deep-ball specialist seat warm while second-year pro Mack Hollins continues to develop. Going on 32, Wallace hasn't been a genuine game-breaker for quite some time but still averages 14-15 yards per catch while commanding defensive respect. Durable and more versatile than he's given credit for, Wallace is a big-time upgrade on Smith.
