If the Raiders truly plan on releasing Crabtree anyway, they'll likely take anything they can get in a trade. Better to get something, anything in return rather than nothing. Sure, they might be HOPING for a 3rd, but if everyone knows he's getting cut anyway no one's parting with a 3rd.
