It's a sign of desperation.  Teams are overpaying for marginal talent because it's all that's out there.

Gonna need to be masters at the draft to win in this climate.

Unfortunately we don't have that.  We have a Mister instead.

another wr gone.

As expected. They really couldn't afford to have Lee walk on them after making the decision to let Robinson walk and with Allen Hurns being as injury prone as any WR in the NFL. They'd be one predicable Hurns injury away from having a WR corps every bit as bad as ours was late last year and lacking a QB capable of making up for it.

Lee's contact according to Schefter...

4 years....38mil....

In this environment, honestly that's not terrible. He is coming off of a 700+ yard season and a 800+ yard season. I don't think that level of WR is worth that type of money, but I'd MUCH rather give Lee that contract than give Paul Richardson 5 years/$40M with him coming off of three consecutive seasons failing to reach 300 yards.

Relatively speaking, but I'd still call it overpayment.

In Driver's Ed, they always told you that you can be the safest driver on the road and still get killed because someone else is an idiot.

Similar principles apply to NFL free agency.
