Yep, if he's the #1 WR FA target of another team then we should probably hope that we don't get him. I don't think he's the type of player we should be getting into a bidding war over.

Yes, if its a guy that someone else thinks is worth something then lets not compete for them. on day 5 or 6 of free agency there will be some garbage or has beens that we can pick up for cheap.

Broken bones are durability issues now?   How do you feel about TD and SS who both suffered broken bones?  Guess they had durability issues also?

Red flags my ass.

You and Riv are both getting mad and hell and overreacting. As far as I know, we still don't even know what Byrd's "lower leg injury" was/is.

Not mad, just calling out a falacy that needs to stop before the less intelligent on this board starts parroting said drivel.

Yeah, let's get in a bidding war for a player who has amassed fewer than 2000 receiving yards in four seasons combined.

Honestly, Moncrief is garbage who should be picked up for cheap.

Ya, I get pretty upset when people want to justify a crap signing because YOU think they are injury prone (whatever that means anyway).  I assure you we could've found someone equally as bad as Torrey for less than half what we are going to pay him.

I love how these guys get injured once and now they are guys who will never be healthy.  Let's shuffle our promising young guys to the back of the deck to give our reps to a 29 year old receiver who was never very good to begin with and hasn't been so in many years.

Overreaction bro... I never said they'll never be healthy. Curtis started last year hurt then got hurt again after a couple games. Doesn't mean it'll happen again. IF Samuels/Byrd outplay Smith in OTAs and training camp then they'll start over him and possibly we'll cut him...if not or if they're not healthy then at least we have a vet with speed. Don't see why bringing in competition for them is hurting your feelings...it's football, competition is a good thing. The best will shake out

He ended up on IR twice in one season. If that's not a red flag, what is? As far as I know, it still hasn't even been announced exactly what happened with his "lower leg injury".

Ya, instead we should ship out a 23 year old corner/safety in return for an overpriced 29 year old player who only had 2,100 recv yards in the last 4 seasons combined.

What a time to be alive.

Broken.  It was reported shortly after he was placed on IR.  They didn't hold a press conference if that's what you mean?

Again.  None of the rest of your argument is valid.  The key here is should we have gotten a redundant player or spent that $5 mil on an actual upgrade at a position of need.  Basically you're telling me Smith was an insurance policy.  Not a very good use of a good portion of your cap room when we have glaring holes all over the field.
