Redskins are expected to sign WR Paul Richardson to a five-year, $40 million deal with $20 million in guarantees, sources say.

Yeah I'm not sorry I'm glad we're not betting that kind of money on a guy with that kind of injury history. I'd  like to see  moncrief get a look just for speed , size and upside  but hurney might be better off snagging another wr with a trade instead of getting caught up in the big contracts going out at the moment

It’s still hilarious that people ridiculed Hurndog 2.0 for the trade for Smith. Him in the open market would have definitely been more than 5 million we have an absolute bargain at this point. If Worley becomes a competent corner and Smith is an absolute flop then yeah the haters were right but I really don’t think that’s going to happen.

This is like justifying buying something you didn't need because it was on sale.

Well without a doubt one thing we needed was someone that can threaten opposing teams deep. Remains to be seen if Smith can be that guy with Cam  but I like that we at least have a vet option for it rather than just betting on Samuels and Byrd to stay healthy

I love how these guys get injured once and now they are guys who will never be healthy.  Let's shuffle our promising young guys to the back of the deck to give our reps to a 29 year old receiver who was never very good to begin with and hasn't been so in many years.

I dont necessarily agree that Smith would have got more than 5 mil per. He is 29. These other guys getting signed are a good bit younger than Smith and show potential for getting better. Smith at 29 is what he is.

It'll be interesting to see who wins in this one. Jerry relented and let the organization (wisely) pass on Johnny Manziel who he reportedly wanted something fierce. It's been reported that Jerry really wants Dez to stay while most of the rest of the organization is ready wash their hands of both him and his contract.
