That's not what he is saying.

The NFL doesn't guarantee the life of the contracts, only bonus money.  He's saying Cousins bet on himself and played essentially under two 1-year contracts until he finally got a pay day with guaranteed, bonus money up front.

Still, the base salary year to year will not be guaranteed.

True, however Allen Robinson for me is slow like Funchess for an X receiver. 

Jordan has a much faster 40 but is about the same in all the shuttle and come times.

At that position, but quick is more important than being fast.  ARob a much more polished product than Funchess, who still has trouble off the line and doesn't separate well.
