If they can get a legit QB to go along with that defense they could give the Pats a challenge for the AFC East

So I figure Buffalo will get a 2 yr deal with someone like a Bradford while drafting a big arm guy for the cold and windy Buffalo weather.  Sounds like Josh Allen to me

We need good, experienced WRs--we do not need a superstar.  Benjamin made us worse.  Cam forced it to him.  Others disappeared.

A unit where everyone has a role.  Olsen CMC, Funchess, Samuel, Smith---that is not bad if they are healthy.  Everyone is overreacting because Olsen was hurt most of the season.  Samuel and Byrd were out---all  we had was Funchess and CMC.

We are better than last year right now.  Let some vet WR trickle through the overspending of free agency and add him to the roster on the cheap.  Going after Watkins (about 50 yards per game over career), Richardson (has averaged 14 yards per game he has played in) or even Allen Robinson (One of four seasons over 1000 yards). Paul Richardson will get a $7-8m deal.  Watkins will make $600K per game for 50 yards.  Robinson will make over $10,000 per reception yard.

I guess, for the first time, I am starting to question the market.  We all have the show room fever, but a smart customer kicks the tires of the value cars out back.  That is what we need to do.  I am changing my mind when I start crunching numbers.  Let the others overpay for these WRs.  There are no Michael Irvins or Jerry Rices out there.

Purple death shroud.  It's where QB's go to die.  Brett Farve once wore it.

Favre also had a 4000+ yard season with the Vikings and they went 12-4 and went to the NFL championship game that year where they lost to the unmentionable eventual Super Bowl champions in a fashion that would spur the Bountygate investigation and subsequent penalties.

I'm still going to keep my eye on Mike Wallace.

He would find a role--I think he will get lost in the auctioning and he could be sitting there a week after FA opens.  Marquis Lee is another one like that.

I just can't see the Jags letting Lee go after choosing to let Robinson walk. Allen Hurns is as injury prone as any player in the NFL and they'd be one very predictable injury away from fielding a WR corps every bit as bad as ours was last year and Bortles isn't the type of QB that will help make up for a lacking WR corps to say the least.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
