Been hearing about NO going in to cap hell for the last 5 seasons, somehow they find a way to sign key guys

They have had to let a lot of guys go also, hence the reason they had $42m in dead money in 2016.  So they basically had to field a team that year for less active cap then any team in the league.

I hope we do.pick up a receiver or two. But not by overspending especially on guys coming off injuries.  With Funchess, Olsen and McCaffrey accounting for the lion share of passes already, how many will there be to spread around to Samuel, Byrd and whoever we bring in during free agency and the draft.  We need a number 2 and a slot receiver if Samuel isn't ready or Byrd can't stay healthy. But we don't need to get into a bidding war over any receiver.

Hopefully the receiver addition would take targets not beg for scraps.

There will be targets available if he can stretch the field and open up things underneath. I know nothing  about who is wanting what kind of money, but I actually like Mike Wallace a lot. He says he is in it to win a Superbowl and the money isn't the thing. Now tell me how that doesn't fit with half a dozen guys already on the Panthers roster. He is exactly the kind of all in guy we need on this team and in this locker room.

I thought i read something about an issue with the law at some point. Maybe I'm wrong and it is passed him now but I guess I'm wondering if there would be any off the field concerns.

Marijuana and adderol in college. But that's every single person I know at that point in our lives.

They went all in for the 2013 season but didn't win it all.

Following that failed push, they'd been mediocre ever since. It wasn't until after last year's stellar draft with the help of Jeff Ireland that they even had a winning season again.

More pissed they signed some decent offenseive talent in fa, but they plain bombed some big defensive acquisitions, browner and byrd come to mind, and they let Jenkins go

I can’t see us signing Robinson or Watkins. Their market is going to go up with all these teams with cap space. I can see us realistically going after Paul Richardson or Mike Wallace. Which I’m ok with if we use the left over space to fill other needs on the team.

Watkins is more injury prone than Allen Robinson and Robinson is also more consistent at route running and catching the football than Funchess

Not true at all but you're entitled to your opinion.

Who are these top receivers any other year?

Seriously, I’m trying to think of the best Freebagent receivers of the last 5 years?

Desean Jackson last year? Who else?

It is not like there are Julio Jones type of receivers hitting the market every year.

Lol JJ is a elite WR. You forgot Jeffrey last year. Maclin the year before. Tate before that. I could go on but this year lacks a true solid receiver with out a major injury. Robinson is probably the most complete and he is a injury concern.

First off,  I say this with all due respect (and facetiousness): Ain't nobody trying to hear that!   Bring on Robinson!

Now I know that realistically you are probably right.  No need to get into some serious bidding war,  but I would give it the old college try with a pseudo bidding war.

Lastly,  winning is the name of the game,  not getting a guy his touches because he is whining for them.  Ignition takes spreading the ball around to have success,  then that's  what Norv is going to do.
