While The Lounge continues to host thread after thread of music, "What Are You Listening To," and others, some of us got to this point with the help of Tower Records and FM radio.

I went through musical puberty with Tower. Their southern California locations were almost all very close to a large music venue and I spent many Friday or Saturday nights roaming the aisles of the Sunset Boulevard store in LA or the Sports Arena Blvd store in San Diego, right across from the San Diego Sports Arena, where I saw many, many concerts.

If you wanted to hear a certain album or artists, someone behind the counter would put it on the turntable and the whole store could listen. Often, in the San Diego store, you could run into a band member or other musician who just finished a show and decided to walk across the street. The Sunset store in LA was a great hangout place back in the day, right down the street from the Troubador, the Whiskey and the Roxy.

Nothing but great memories- thanks, Mr. Solomon.

Spent many hours in the Sports Arena Tower in San Diego location myself circa 1983. Pretty sure thats where I got my first copy of Synchronicity, and got Van Halens 1984 en route to my GFs house up in LA. Eons ago.

In LA the only club I went to was the Seven Seas. It was pretty great, we'd get off of work @4, be in LA by 8, stay in the club until 6AM then drive back to San Diego. I'd be dead if I tried that now LOL.
