We do still need a good WR. Not sure why everyone seems so down on Funchess. I think he can easily be a 1000+ yard guy and our #1, but it would be real nice to have another more or just as talented guy on the other side. Smith is a stop gap and one trick pony. Samuel and Byrd are more slot guys.

Funchess is not bad at all. I think what people are looking for is better route running and more separation from him. He doesn't seem to be that type of wr so I would not mind drafting one. Panthers dont even have a scrub like Ted Ginn that can get deep with separation.(I guess Torrey is his replacement ehhh...)

If they can't get an Elite wr then get at least get a deep threat specialist(Dj Chark type) and a redzone target specialist(Allen Lazard type of wr or Tight-end).

Funchess just needs to be able to win in contested situations. Needs to use his big body for the big body he is. Once he does that, I honestly think he has all the traits for a viable #1 WR.

Runs routes exceptionally well. Red-zone threat. Able to create separation on his own. These traits already exist.

The one that doesn't is contested catches. That needs to be fixed over the off-season.

Okay ill take that but fans wanna see the deep threat separation....Like that catch he had vs Falcons.(the 2nd one where Cam started off with 8 incompletions...smh)

@Verge what's the feelings on Isiah Oliver in the scouting community? I've seen you leave him off of your top CB lists. Is he not liked as much by pro scouts?

He is really good, there are just so many high level corners in this draft. Isaiah could easily be a first round guy.

He is still sticking with Best WR (Ridley or Moore) or Hayden Hurst for us.

Says the Josh Allen thing is currently blowing up the draft and a lot of teams are kind of scrambling, think Bills will still take him, but if not, he could fall.

Do the Panthers really like Anthony Miller a lot? Is he the pick(in the 2nd round) if Moore/Ridley is gone?

And you said something that Panthers like a few late 1st round TEs. So that means they like Mark Andrews, Dallas Geodert also?

Do  they favor any power running back?

Is Frank Ragnow the only center they like?

Big fan of Oliver.  He is one reason I wouldn't mind trading down a little.  I think you could drop to around 30 and still get a really good CB this year.

I doubt they will get Miller because of how bad they want Justin Reid.

I think the only other guy they were interested in was Gesicki? I'll try and ask him later.

The backs they  like are Penny and Chubb .

They like Daniels, but  Ragnow is a lot more flexible, can play guard or center at a high level.

Okay thanks. I like most of the guys they like. Reid could definitely be the first pick lowkey, with Moore gaining stem and Ridley going to Ravens or Cowboys.

I would not mind it if the great picks are gone. They probably could trade down in first and still get Reid also. I think some teams are really high on Jessie Bates at FS.

Does the Greg extension take away from Panthers drafting Hurst now?

Funny thing about Funchess is that he is only 7 months older than Ridley. Shows you how young and raw he was coming into the league. Also, gives you some pause on older prospects like Ridley. Maybe they step in right away or maybe they don’t have much upside.

True, but I dont care about Calvin's age. The Panther's are ready to make a SB run but only with the right fa and draft picks. You got to agree that Jalen Hurts is a terrible passer, even for a college qb. A god damn rookie high-school senior, that just finished playing Madden in half time, came in and won vs Georgia's scary SEC defense . That's how bad he is.LOL

Also you cant expect nothing from a wide receiver but to run routes to get wide open and catch the ball.(And block maybe?) Everything else is bonus points. We know Ridley can do both excellent.

Funchess contract year is coming up this year to. I can argue Panther's only have got maybe 1 good year of production from him. His age worked against Panthers in a way. Is it the wr coaches that he didn't develop fast enough? Was it Cam inconsistent or Shula being uncreative?

What if he has another so-so year ? That's one good year out of 4. What if he has a 1000 yard/10 10td season and wants to get paid big?

What are you going to do? Panthers will be in same situation that you guys say you are in with Oslen. Right?

Shouldn't they get a wr that can play on the same level as Funchess or be forced to reason with him. And you know how crazy the FA market got for WR just last month for above avg wr.

So what do you do this year for an outside wr?

I’m fine with Ridley, just thought the age thing was interesting. Also, Funchess had a good year last year. As much as Alshon Jeffrey was getting lauded (always happens with SB), Funchess had a better year. We aren’t a top passing offense, we don’t get a ton of WR stats. Honestly, that’s why I never understood the hate on KB getting almost 2000 yards and 16 TDs in year 1 and 2.

I hope Funchess improves, he can easily be a 1000 yard 9-10 TD player. The WR contracts to FAs does make an extension hard now. We probably should have foreseen that and worked it out before FA started.

Yep, and if this is a run team first and you are trying to help offense first. Will Hernandez or Isiah Wynn would be top choice imo.

Yep. I’m all about interior OL. Ryan’s going to breakdown again this year and he’s done after this year so we have two spots to fill. Moton plus Daniels or Wynn (C too?) or Ragnow or Price would be great IMHO. That said we have 4 top 90 picks so it’d be nice to get C/G, WR, Secondary and RB or TE help with those 4.

Another underrated guy is Braden Smith from Auburn. He is a rg though. I dont know if he can play left guard as good.

Martinas Rankins is projected to be moved inside to guard/center.

Brandon Parker could move inside to guard or right tackle.

On another note would you take a chance on a guy like Orlando Brown or Conor Williams as future Left tackles in mid rounds?

Seeing guys that looked shaky in college sometimes and at combine like Cam Robinson go on to  have great success. I'm wondering if they are passing on a future left tackle that just wasn't used right or coached up enough.
