Inaccurate. Kemoeatu and Lewis were both good DTs for us. Later, Hurney did let DT fall apart and tried to plug the gap throwing two 3rd rounders at Terrell McClain and Sione Fua and throwing them in the fire as rookies. It didn't exactly work out.

Kind of like Gettleman let CB fall apart and tried to plug the gap throwing a 2nd and 3rd rounder at James Bradberry and Daryl Worley. I'd argue that so far it hasn't exactly worked out.

I think the Hurney hatred has led to delusions of grandeur regarding Gettleman. I think he did a lot more good than bad, but he was far from perfect and no GM will ever come close to perfection.

Not sure where the DG thing stems from because I’m talking DT and we have two sure things, one more possible sure thing and a serviceable 4th man. JP made Lewis and Kemoeatu look a lot better than they really were. Then life after a JP in his prime ....welll that taught me Hurney got lucky a lot

C'mon man, you don't have to qualify it. Lewis and Kemo were solid players for us. You can admit it. We won't make you suck Marty's dick, I promise.

Hurney really didn't get lucky a lot. I wish he did. He consistently made good 1st round picks and then everything that happened after that was a total crap shoots. A whole bunch of trash and a diamond in the rough here and there.

100%

The two biggest issues I have by far with DG was the handling of the Norman situation and giving Russell Shepard the contract he should've given Ginn. Both were massive fug ups.

I blame the cousin agent more than DG. Josh said he would have signed the tag to workout a better deal later.

Tyler Brayton was a low level FA. He actually had his two best statistical years his first two seasons with us. He was basically a Wes Horton level player. He wasn't signed to replace Peppers. He was basically signed to play a Wes Horton type rotational role. No, Hurney traded a future 1st to draft the superstar Everette Brown to replace Julius Peppers. Oh wee mayne.
