REPORT: Andrew Norwell to Giants a "done deal"

I can’t wait to see what the Giants are paying them. Whatever it is, it’s more than likely going to be some outrageously high number and if it’s that’s the case then Hurney made the right call in letting him go. Good luck to him up north!

Really enjoyed Norwell's time here. Wish Gettleman would've gotten him locked up long-term before he blew up. Oh well. We can't afford two top money tier guards. Turner is already a top 5 paid OG in terms of average dollars per year. Norwell will almost certainly be #1 when he signs his new deal. Can't afford that type of expenditure at the OG position. Especially with Williams' contract looming at OT.

Undrafted free agent---we got a bargain for 4 years.

I'd love to keep him but there's no way he's worth paying top guard money to. Not at the same time you want to spend on skill postilion players and just paid a big contract to your other guard.

You play at his level on an UDFA contract as long as he did and you are hungry for a big contract. If he had been offered something a few years ago I would assume he would have jumped at the chance to extend at a reasonable rate. Now it's too late. This is in no way Hurney's doing.

Between this and the Matt Kalil contract, that's likely upwards of $100 million total in FA money on the OL in just 2 signings.

This from a guy who let Ted Ginn walk to the Saints in favor of Russell Shepard for a difference of 700k.

Let this sink in.

The choice was made along time ago with KK and Trai. Only way Star comes back is if his market is lower than he expected

Yep, most of us realized when those Turner and Short deals were inked that was pretty much the writing on the wall for Norwell and Star. I'm sure we would've made a push to keep Norwell if he hadn't played his way into being an elite OG and had his free agency align with a weak interior OL class. He got screwed going undrafted, but he lucked out big time in the timing of his free agency and he's going to cash in majorly.
