oh my, i forgot all about trading kelvin benjamin.  add that in and it's the exact same thing as a draft and free agency.

hurney had next to nothing to do with the turner extension by the way and that was widely reported.  the terms were pretty much agreed upon and it was just a matter of getting the contract signed.  of course if turner declines and norwell racks up some more all pros i'm sure we'll see you in here blaming gettleman for extending the wrong guard. 

TD's extension was for one year.  olsen didn't get extended, he got $2 million in incentives converted in his contract.  gettleman had already gotten the major extension done for olsen in 2015, the same offseason he locked up cam and luke.

and yeah i'm biased against hurney and i wish that a. gettleman wouldn't have been fired and b. hurney wouldn't have been hired to replace him.  i only had 11 seasons to form my opinion of hurney after all.

At least you admitted you were biased that’s my only point, not many pro hurney people but we understand those decisions are above our head and we have no choice but to hope he doesn’t suck the second time around, bringing up the past in every thread is just derailing each thread. 

No,extending turner was the right move as long as he returns to 2015 form this season
