Matt Bryant - K - Falcons

Falcons re-signed K Matt Bryant to a three-year contract.

Bryant has been outstanding the past two seasons, nailing 68-of-76 (89.5 percent) of his field goal attempts. Bryant has connected on at least 85 percent of his field goals in seven of the past eight seasons. He turns 43 in May. Despite Bryant's advanced age, he will remain a premier fantasy kicker in 2018.

He came out after halftime and kicked that ball from where Rivera wouldn't let him kick it before halftime. Plus his long in 2016 was 54 and he routinely kicks off from the 30 and splits the uprights. Distance hasn't been his issue accuracy and pulling it has been.

Butker would have had to be the clear runaway favorite in camp for DG to consider making him the full time starter. That was a longshot. I said as much when we drafted Butker. Acquiring some form of competition was a good starting point. Expecting him to come in and unseat a streaky veteran kicker with something to prove who is well liked by the staff is a whole different matter.

Who here doesn't post takes that suit their own purposes in some way or another? Take you for example. Butker performed the best out of all the kickers at the NFL combine in 2017.

That's where Butker got his draft attention.  It was obvious to everyone but Marty Hurney that he likely got a good part of the league's other GMs attention at  that time too.

Which is to say that "weren't expecting anyone to steal him away" was another stupid assumption.

Terms haven't been announced yet.  If they are before tomorrow at 4pm and a deal isn't done yet, it could affect the negotiation.

i haven’t even been hard on hurney on this subject. i just think that it’s funny how you acknowledge gano has issues and somehow shift the blame over to gettleman.
