I hate this.  We have too many bigger needs and too little cap space than to spend top 3 kicker money on gano.  I'd rather cut him now and draft another kicker in the 6th or 7th round.

Come on, son, do you actually trust Rivera’s judgement? 

Last time I checked Gano hasn’t signed a contract and you’d have to compare his contract to the contract of other kickers before you say he’s waaayyyyy overpaid.

Gano was arguably our best player last season. Can’t add that to the list of positions Hurney knows nothing about.

I don’t see it being much of an argument. Last Playoff game left most of us wanting a new kicker. For just the change if nothing else. We all rejoiced when we drafted a kicker. Why? Because Gano is meh. Hot and cold. Last year was a hot year. Not 5million hot, but hot for Gano

The smart move might be just tagging Graham. Another team might offer him $5.5-6 million a year, tagging him would be $4.9 million.

No, this is clearly JR forcing Hurney to make these decisions. Seems the excuse should be able to be applied here to no?

I really hope the best for Gano, but I don’t see putting 5 million towards him gets us closer to a SB...  I’m not a scout, coach or GM so!

I agree. They really screwed up. Though I'm not sure 5 million for one year isn't better than 4 million for multiple years at this point.
