REPORT: Panthers heavily interested in the free agent QB market

Knowing Bradford, he's gonna fleece some team into giving him another starting QB contract. Never before has such a marginal player turned his abilities into such an impressive bank account. The guy has made over $1M per start. $1M per TD pass. Over $3M per win. Over $5k per passing yard. Unbelievable. Bradford may not be an elite or even good QB, but the way he and his representatives have handled the business side of his career is straight up teaching class.

That train might be over now that it was reported his knee condition is degenerative.

I'm reminded more of Pat White than Michael Vick.

It was confirmed that teams did indeed ask him to do receiver drills. Jackson claimed that they didn't. Not sure what's to be gained by that. His decision to go without an agent is suspect as well.

NFL teams wanted Pat White to work at receiver for a few years while they developed his quarterback skills. He refused, and effectively derailed his NFL career because of that.

I wonder if Jackson might not follow a similar path.

Going back even further Eric Crouch at Nebraska comes to mind. He refused to even consider any position other than QB. The Chiefs still drafted him in the 3rd round. I don't think he ever suited up for an NFL game.

Sub-60% college passers just don't translate to the NFL level unless your name is Michael Vick and as great of an athlete as Jackson is, he ain't Michael Vick.

Rosen not that much better...Josh Allen worse

I've been saying this entire draft process that Josh Allen is the biggest surefire bust in this draft. Someone is going to take him in the 1st. He's another Jake Locker/Christian Hackenberg.

several are saying that...

Crouch...oy...

I'm still amazed at how some of these kids screw themselves out of the opportunity of a lifetime.

If we're this desperate for a competent backup QB, I'm anticipating another year of Cam Newton carrying the burden for the team more often than not. The staff basically seems to have accepted this. I get it on the surface. But it's just feels like Groundhog Day all over again when you realize Funchess is our only WR that has proven anything beyond potential, and that we still need another RB.
