FSU players actually hit at a pretty high rate. The jags and Eagles teams are littered with them.

Overall, yes. Specifically talking about edge rushers, no. Not at all. That doesn't mean they're all busts, but it's kind of like USC and WRs. The track record is spotty at very best.

Look at the 3 cone drill.  The guys mentioned that half the teams pay more attention to that time than the 40, especially for DE's

They very much pay attention to guys who can get a sub 7 second

Sam Hubbard, just sayin...

Not in love with him, but his 3 cone is in that elite DE range(Watt/Bosa) . Which is more important than the 40 like you've stated for DE.

But Kony Ealy had a better time than the guys mentioned above, so it's a multitude of factors

That sounds like the myth that all Alabama RBs are busts...until they aren’t..I don’t believe in team bust rates.. you pan usc WRs then you ignore say juju smith schuster. All players should be judged on a individual basis.

I'm talking about them as a group. Of course teams are judging them on an individual basis and of course when you're putting player after player into the league there's gonna be some hits. But with USC WRs and FSU edge rushers, even the biggest USC and FSU fans would have to admit that there's a LOT more busts than hits.

I'm not sure how much thought NFL teams put into it and it probably varies team to team. It definitely stuck out to me when Deion Sanders joked about how CBs don't come from Penn State earlier today at the combine. I'm sure some NFL teams take stuff like program tendencies into account to some degree.

Alabama O Lineman as a group seem to under perform at the next level also

Generally speaking, yeah they do. Seems like their OL is always absolutely outstanding at the college level but I think a lot of it is the fact that they're all very good college players with no weak links as a unit so as an overall OL they're the elite of the elite at the college level but projecting to the next level there's oftentimes no individual standout.

I don’t see how a serious talent evaluator could. Each player comes from different places and have different values and things that motivate them. I like to think of all college players as a lump of clay and up to each team to develope and mold said prospect. If you say oh we have never had a kid from say where Carson wentz is from hit or where Big Ben is from hit then your doing your team a disservice.

I say to hell. With pedigree. And before brown and so on FSU 90s-early 2000s were thought to be one of the best at developing defensive linemen.

So, sell me on Sweat as a 4-3 DE. I watch quite a bit of ACC football and honestly I didn't even know his name until recently.

He's got length and meets certain criteria which I imagine is why teams are giving him a closer look.  Not a huge fan though.  I don't really see a Tarrell Basham or Matt Judon type in this class.  No Preston Smith type either.  Sh*tty DE class.

I read a a few things on him and there is a big red flag off the gate with this kid: Slow off the snap. With that athleticism, that needs to be your biggest strength.  Hard pass.
