This would be the only thing that gives me pause..that there is amazing value in the draft.

But spending it on DL or OL? Who are you talking about...resigning Star and Norwell? Bc that’s likely not happening. What other DL and OL players are you talking about?

Theres a very real chance that we go into next season with THREE total pass catchers with any meaningful NFL experience. Olsen, Funchess, CMC. That’s not even three guys in the WR room. It’s three total. So spending 10-12/year on a guy who would have commanded 14-16 mil/year before his injury...I don’t think that’s a bad deal if his knee checks out. The problem is that I’m not sure anyone is going to be able to give his knee the OK anytime soon.

Did you know who Panthers had in 2015? Spending 12 million on Devin Funchess 1.5 is stupid when you could draft Ridley or Kirk with 1/10 of salary cap impact while putting up the same production.

Injuries derailed WR corp last season but I believe Samuel & Byrd steps up this season with an actual power running game that demands a safety in the box.( Vertical routes look what Ginn was able to do)

Draft a TE, RB & WR and this offense is set.

The money freed up is going to be spent on Norwell  due to the fact that in 2019 Turner would be the only good OL remaining under contract.

Don't see why you're so ok with betting the whole season on Samuel and Byrd when they haven't shown they can stay healthy yet and another rookie wr that you may like from their college careers but you have no idea if they can play in the NFL yet. We saw what happened last year betting on that... I'm not sure why we think we only need one quality wr at a time around here

Fug no, rather use it on the OL & DL.

There is better value in the draft.

When is the last time we drafted a WR and developed him?   Pretty much never.    Smith was self-made and Moose was who he was out of college.    KB never improved, was still the big clumsy WR he was in college and Funchess has definitely gotten better but still a borderline #2.       Face it, the Panthers cannot develop WR's, it's not our forte, so you sign a WR.     We've did this circle for 20 years and it hasn't worked out.     What are we pretty good at?  Developing OL and DL, so you use your draft picks on those, but you sign your weakness.

Finally someone agrees with me. Over 20 yrs we have had two great wrs Smith and Muhammad, that's it!!!! We have to sign someone that is great we suck at evaluating wrs don't know why.

When has overpaying in FA worked in NFL history?

You know this excuse has been debunked numerous times over the past few years, as teams like the Pats and Eagles have spent money in FA

Nah , I want someone faster . I want either john brown , tavon Austin or Watkins

That's great but we already have speed friend-o.

We need someone who can do something other than go fast. This isn't Madden.
