His 40 time scares me.

He's much much faster in pads on the field. Like Jerry Rice game speed. Catches pretty much everything thrown his way and was getting solid separation consistently before the injury. As long as he didn't lose his burst the guy is a beast. And would be our best YAC guy in team history with the exception of Smitty.

Remember, signing any A contract FA will likely cost us Norwell’s comp pick.  So add the salary plus a third round pick in next year’s draft, then decide if it’s worth it. If we’re signing any “ big “FAs this year, they will be street FAs who have been cut and don’t count against comp formulas, or FAs after the comp period has expired.

I don't care as long as we're getting a true impact player.

Lets just keep doing what we've been doing the past 23 years then. Look at all the Lombardi Trophies that has produced.

This. It's a complete loser mentality to handicap yourself in the present in order to hopefully benefit with comp picks in the future.

I get it that it can come into consideration if you're considering multiple options and you end up favoring the one that wouldn't impact your comp pick criteria, but you don't pass up a proven impact player just because you don't want to miss out on your chance to land a future mid-round pick.

If you look at it we have very low money in the WR corps.  I am fine using a good chunk of money on a great talent.  Robinson would make our WR corps much more legit.  I would take the gamble.   Also I think Funchess contract is comin up before too long.

This is the last year of his contract.

There you go..damn we need good WRs badly.

Yep. If we can get Robinson for $10-12M it's a no brainer. Keeping Funchess would probably cost us $8-10M. Sign Robinson as a significant upgrade, still look to add another WR early and if all works out we have some actual real WR depth for the first time in forever and best case scenario we can thank Funchess for his efforts and let someone else give him his second contract and roll with Robinson, a yet to be drafted player, Samuel, etc. next year. If you look at it that way, we're only spending a couple of millions extra per season long-term to essentially swap in Robinson for Funchess. And we'd still have the option to re-sign Funchess if the young guys don't progress to our liking. Actual flexibility, depth, and options at WR... can you imagine? Wow, it just seems unthinkable.
