Dolphins trade for DE Robert Quinn

Quinn was a flat out stud a few years ago but he had two injury riddles seasons and then an inconsistent season last year. He just hasn't been worth his contract and is a better fit in a 4-3 D anyway. The Rams free up over $11M in cap space by trading him.

Look for the Rams to go pass rusher early in April because I don't think the answer is currently on their roster.

This trade hurts us twice.... one, we don't get a 27-yr old DE and fill that need in our rotation. Secondly, (as Untouchable said) and more importantly, that's $20M off their books over the next two years means both Watkins and Joyner are easier to retain in LA.

Never know why Carolina is never involved in any of these trades. Would have been a nice addition.

Agreed, but if the pick is a R4 pick, then we couldn't do that, and I don't think Quinn is worth one of our thirds.

I doubt LAR take a 5th rounder within the NFC contender for a 27 yo DE that would really thrive in our system.

I feel your pain sir... trust... this is the kind of DE deal we need to find this offseason. The draft isn't going to help us, and Peppers/Addison is shaky to be counted on for 19-20 games this year.

Yeah, I think we would've had to have made a significantly better offer for the Rams to send him to  fellow NFC contender. Plus, we would've had to account for his contract. He would've been over $10M on the cap this year and almost $12M next year.
