Yeah, let's spend all our cap and throw away picks on a slot receiver.  Nevermind the fact we already have 2 of those.

The stupidity on the forum has gotten out of hand.

Yeah we have two that played a combined two or three games. Lmao your the smartest guy on here!!! Also Landry has hands unlike I've seen from the other two so far!!!!

What worries me about this is that the entire offense needs to convert to dink-and-dunk if they're going to invest that much into Landry and that's a waste of Cam's deep ball. Landry/CMC/Samuel catching out of the slot or in the backfield, Olsen doing his thing, maybe draft a second TE instead of a WR to go all the way with it. Would take pressure off the o-line and drops would become a thing of the past but it puts any and all of our deep threat hopes on Byrd. Watkins isn't as good, but for the risk he's much cheaper and could be the deep threat.

I think Watkins has a better chance of being a deep threat outside receiver, which I'm not convinced Landry can be.  Also I'm not convinced we have anyone on the roster to fill that role

I think Landry is the better slot type receiver which I think we have several on the roster that could probably fill that role.

Watkins has averaged 58.7 yards a game in his career.

Landry has averaged 63.1 yards a game in his career.

Which player fits what Cam does best?

The one that stays healthy gets open a lot and has great hands..

Why can't Samuels be a deep threat WR?? If it is all about speed he is a 4.34 speed guy right?

Thats why signing Austin would be stupid The panthers drafted Samuel in the 2nd gotta see what he can do

is Landry even a deep threat and yes i know he can catch deep passes but that's not his game

Landry is whatever you need him to be.. He runs great routes  has great hands and some agility.  Those skills allowed you to get separation and make deep plays.

I'd buy a Landry jersey faster than you could say "Nike Jerseys are overpriced."

I wouldn't give a 1st but anybody who wouldn't part with a 2nd for a guaranteed thing is a dummy. Cost counts to be sure but In a vacuum you take that deal 100 times out of a 100.

True, which may be why we can afford him and Norwell for the same as Landry. We don’t need a 150 target Landry. If Landry only gets 100 targets with us, he’ll have 6-700 yards. Not worth the cost.

You don't have to convince me.  I'd rather take my chances with Watkins if the price is right.  But,  he doesn't come without risk. If we could land Watkins and Donte Moncrief,  I would name my next, uh, dog, "Hurndawg."
