With Stewarts Release, Will McCaffrey start at RB?

No, in an interview a month or two ago, Norv basically said that CMC was not a between the tackles runner and he prefers to have a bruising back on roster. He will get CMC into space. 

 

 

Here's the quote: “He had an unbelievable rookie year and did a lot more than a lot of people would be asked to do and handled them all,” Turner said, via the team’s website. “He lined up everywhere you could line up, which is hard for a rookie. He’s got such talent, you’re just going to keep finding ways to get him the ball and try to create more space for him. That hard-nosed running between the tackles he can certainly do, but I don’t know that’s what you want to lead with him.”

 

Sounds like to me that CMC will be the utility guy and that we'll go for a main back in the draft. Hurney's comments align with that as well.

The great thing about having cmc as the starter is the defense will never know if he’s gonna run it or catch it Many backs like stew are one dimensional and the defense can key on the run
