Ranking the transition of Positions from college to Pros..

WOW!!

The LB transition is much harder than the RB or DE.  By LB I mean the off the ball LB not the 3/4 edge rushing guys.  I would also say C have it much harder than OT just because of the line calls they have to make.  In college, it depends on the school, some of those are made from the sidelines.

Yeah that's a good point.. I would switch LB with RB..

The thing about OT and C is.. I get C make all the line calls so they have a mental transition.. But they have help on each side of them.. OT are often left on a island having to deal with all types of pass rusher and outside blitzer... And OT usually come in having to bulk up.. So not only do they have a mental transition but a physical one .

How do Virginia Tech players translate to NFL?

what about Lehigh or Mercer players? The gamecocks put out some good NFL players too.

Does St Johns have a football team?

I thought the transition for DTs was more difficult than that.

Then again, it could be our experience of drafting DTs before Star and Short made it seem way more difficult. But I would put DE/DT around the same area just before TE. Every once in a while you'll find a stud, but the majority take a couple years to start showing why you drafted them.

I pretty much agree.. But I do feel DE more than DT are asked to do more and the physical transition for most of them take a year.. While DT come in pretty big and physical already.. DE have to work more on Tech, pass rush moves and dropping back in passing zones more than DT ..
