Johnson had serious back surgery last spring and kept fighting to stay healthy in 2017. I keep thinking back to how he told me that when he couldn’t even walk, it was devastating to not be able to pick up his young son. Wishing him and his family many happy, healthy years.

Looking at the Panthers twitter feed, and there are people panicking over this cut. This was an easy one. Johnson might as well have not been on the team last season. 16 tackles and 0 sacks last season. Pep, Addison, and Horton are all substantially better, and he won't be hard to replace.

It was definitely time, but I'm still going to miss Big Money. He was never the same after that leg whip against New England in 2013.

It was Gettleman, and it wasn't a stupid move. At that point our only edge options were an unknown in Ealy, 33 year old Allen, and Addison who had yet to develop vs the run.  He was coming off a season with 8.5 sacks.

Sh*t happens.  It didn't work out, obviously, but at the time the re-signing made a lot of sense.  Injuries are what derailed him.

People that post on the panthers social media pages pretty much panic over anything.
