Why is the sale of the team taking so long?

It's being sold. Just privately and the only time we will hear anything publicly will be when it's sold and the other GMs gotta vote on it in one of the league meetings. So expect it to come out before one of the two league meetings this year.

GM's have zero vote.

Only a 3rd of the team is being sold and it is not for controlling power of the team. I doubt many people would want to spend 500+ million dollars and have no control over what they just purchased.

First of all, Richardson owns 48% of the team.

In no world is that a third.

Second, as has been LONG reported, the full 100% of the team is for sale.

I don't know the Titan situation but there are quite a few bidders in Panther sale.

i have also heard that the price of 2.3 billion might be surpassed so it isn't a matter of money.

A bid needs to be accepted and move on.

The bids probably aren't even prepared yet.

From what I've read, an ownership bid isn't just about how much money they're willing to spend. There's a lot of very detailed information about what they would do with the franchise and such that goes with it. Remember they have to get league approval as well, not just that of Jerry Richardson.

And speaking of Jerry Richardson, from what I understand, he has very little involvement in the process right now. The lawyers are handling everything at this point. He won't truly be involved until everything is presented. Right now, the potential owners are probably still working up those presentations.

Everybody's gotta remember this is the sale of a 2.3 to 2.8 billion dollar asset. We're not talking about an eBay auction that can end Tuesday at 4pm.
