This defense is absolutely terrible

Horrible conservative game calling on offense gave them the game in the 3rd. We never go for the throat and it showed tonight. Up f*cking 10 points and just decided to not score anymore cause of the risk.

Amen.

We have all said it.

There appears to be no short passing game...everything is vertical.

Very few, if any passess to TEs, backs out of the backfield (a screen, a flare, anything). Nothing more than those 'smoke' passes to Smith.

That too me, won't get it done.

Get a short passing game, 3 step drops, quick slants, pops to the TE to compliment that running game and John Kasay isn't having to be Superman.

An extra 2 yards, and that kick goes in.

Going conversative from the 2min warning on, well, that didn't help either, I know with the wind, that made it tough, but, all the more reason for short passing game vs. 20+ yards vertical.

On Defense, Lord. What to say. There are some holes there, and we all know it.

They missed Kemo, but, they missed Jenkins too. Not saying he needs to be back, not saying he was the second coming; but, just saying that he is an all-Pro this year, and no way can that type of player be replaced by Lewis, Gibson, Walker et al.

Lucas has lost a step or two in coverage. Godrey, I don't know. My opinion is the mental side of the game isn't there for him and the game still has slowed down; but, this just me. I know he is a rookie; but, I don't see him being worth the high draft pick. Again, just my opinion and Fox loves him.

I think its the defensive scheme/playcalling more than the players. Bland defense and a bland offense. Other than the Peppers sack, there was no pressure on Eli all game. I think this game may do more in the long run for the Panthers players, than if they had won the game last night. If they watch ESPN, you can bet all they will hear about is how the Giants ran all over Carolina, which they did, but a few breaks hear and there and Carolina wins that game ( allowed 2pt conversion, Smitty hold, Kasey blown FG)
