This defense is absolutely terrible

Was I the only one who felt they were fatigued?

Zone isn't bad, but you still have to execute when in zone. I forget when it was, but there was a pass play at some point where a linebacker was playing zone and had he read the QB's eyes/body language he could've went to the left (his right) and ended that play, possibly with a pick. He wasn't that far away, and it would've been similar to what whats-his-name for the Giants did early in the game (the first near-interception, I think).

Glad someone else saw it. I think he might've been moving to the right (his left) and then had to adjust, though. I don't remember for sure. Either way, everyone makes mistakes. That was just one example of something that could've been. There were huge holes in the zone coverage (which is natural, I suppose) but it's like no one moved to break up plays and only moved after the ball was caught. I guess that's also sort-of a major characteristic of zone. I don't know. They should've moved around more. lol.

Is this the first Panther's game you've seen this season? The blown assignments are usually always the same things, every game.

Our bend but don't break attitude usually manages. Specially w/ how our offense has been scoring lately, we could allow the mess ups. Tonight, the small things that usually go our way, didn't.

I've watched every single one.

Why are you responding with so much hostility? I was simply pointing out something that I noticed. It shouldn't matter whether it was typical or not; I was merely stating something from the latest game that had an impact.

My bad man. I'm just sick of seeing the same BS every game and our guys barely scraping by half the games due to it.

I think I get even more pissed knowing it probably wont change and it'll all be back next week. :(

Losing Kemo killed us we needed him bad against the giants o-line. I have no doubt if he were in they don't get a 300 yard game. We didn't take advantage of the tipped passes or the Beasons dropped int. Gamble played like a bitch. But at least we are in the playoffs and honestly this team needs to get back to being road warriors anyway. Plus we could still get a home game, maybe a buy.

Pretty much. Almost every single huge run was right up the middle (on a draw, at that). If you watch you will see Beason read the play to perfection only to get sucked into a blocker like he was playing in a vortex. Kemo does a lot more than he gets credit for. We were very hurt at DT last night. With Kemo in there Beast not only reads the holes but is at least able to fill them and force a cut back (in which case Ward would probably just run right past everyone else for an extra 50 yards).

It feels weird to have a Panther's team where the offense carries the defense.

In my opinion, there is only one person not to blame for this loss and that is De Angelo Williams. Other than that everybody deserves blame, from Fox down to the waterboy.

The entire offensive line played well. We had some running room last night against one of the better defenses in the league, and Jake didn't get sacked. Moose played well. Great blocking and a key catch. Mark Jones was very good.

Ok my first post ever here, and just wanted to say I completely agree with you on Beason. The biggest problem I saw was that Beason and the other linebackers consistently put themselves on the wrong side of blockers. They couldn't fill a gap last night to save their lives. And if they did actually get in position it seems like they were missing tackles left and right.

for god sakes when there a player out you ADJUST,quit making excuses about if kemo was there because you don't know what would have happen, but we do know this conservative bs is garbage i'd rather have lose to a pick six then to let the giants drive over 80 yds to the endzone.

I know, because then you'd be able to blame it on Jake!!

*this was a joke, sort of*

i'm just glad that some people will realize how important Kemo is to this defense. Kemo may not put up the stats, but the fact that he engulfs two blockers and allows Beason, Davis, and Diggs to fly around and make plays is significant. I'm not saying that if Kemo was in the game, the Giants wouldn't have run well on us, because their offensive coordinator called a good game, but Kemo would have kept their offensive line from reaching the 2nd level.
