Hurney is a HoF GM and #8 out of 90 modern GMs in drafting acumen. He is beloved throughout the organization, and it was tragic to see him nearly felled by false accusations.

Honestly, this forum needs a full purge of the dead-enders who are so locked into their Gettleboy fandom that they have begun rooting against the Panthers.

Send them all to a Giants forum; they'll be happier there.

I actually hate JR - he's a key reason this franchise has always been mediocre. But "mediocre" is the key word - he did protect us from Gettlechild's worst and most perverse impulses. Along with Ron, of course. Without those two we'd be the Browns, like the Giants are about to be.

One of the few front office moves he's made since returning was to fire a guy so that he could install Jerry Richardson's grandson in the position instead.

You have to remember that under Richardson, ability doesn't get you promoted. Loyalty does. That's not a good sign if you're hoping for competent staff.

Hope he fails? I'd explain it this way.

If I were to rent a Pauly Shore movie, I could certainly hope that it wouldn't suck. Unfortunately, history would tell me to expect that it will.
