If you only drafting 4 to 5 players in 5 straight drafts and majority of them are not actually  GOOD long term you are prooooobably gonna end up with a older roster.

Hurney can feel free to make me eat crow, but I can't see this in anything other than catastrophic terms. The inflection point in the trajectory of this franchise wasn't drafting Cam or hiring RIvera, it was firing Hurney. It's really difficult to see this team which I irrationally care about get hamstrung by obvious and avoidable mistakes. I hated that we fired Gettleman, but I figured the new ownership would employ a search agency to find a decent replacement. Going back to Hurney is a gut punch that makes it hard to be a fan. I'll still watch the games but I'm probably gonna check out off the off-season news for a while.

I think if Navarro ends up buying the team, a consultant led GM search is a good possibility.

If it's Tepper, he might be more likely to try to pull from the Steelers, most likely Omar Khan or Phil Kreidler (I'd prefer Kreidler).

LOL at the whining idiots and Gettleman apologists. Hurney was really the only reasonable choice. Nobody is going to take the GM job with the team getting ready to be sold. Hurney took the job on an interim basis and naming him the GM gives the team some stability until the new ownership comes in and hires their people. Marty Hurney is under no illusion of him retaining the position under new ownership.
