I dont think he is staying...its just a little longer term interim gig...

I think he wants to stay if he can in order to redeem himself from last time. How long it lasts is up to the new owners. But yeah it isn't secure or permanent no matter what the title says.

lol MH will trade picks for crappy talent.. he cannot help himself.

Dave Gettleman traded up every year. He did it so much the Panthers had the fewest drafted players during his tenure. He also traded a fourth round pick for a punter that played an entire half season.

It was the right decision for the present. If Hurney does well, he will stay. If he screws up he will be gone as he should be.  Nothing to get angry or upset about. It was the right business decision given where we are. Now the "sky is falling" folks can create another mountain of a mole hill.

I'm not saying that it was right or wrong,  but it's certainly not a franchise breaking decision.  Hurney has a rare---err, unique opportunity.  I am intrigued and wish him well.  His situation is not an easy one,  and it is pressure-filled.  Knowing that your job could be gone with the coming of new management is kinda tough.
