Yes he's still the one making the moves, but it's temporary.

The SI scandal is way too big for him to stay in place. He'll certainly do whatever he can while he's in control, but that's not for long.

The Panthers are/were a family organization, and Hurney was de facto consigliere during his period on the outs.

You know how in The Godfather, Tom Hagen was "out" for a while but he wasn't really?

Do any of you people have jobs or work for family companies, or have experience with how the real world works?

Including trying to retain the team. Why hadn’t the team discussed this like they said they would? 

Why is he still pulling strings in the nfl to get his guy back as GM? 

All signs point to JR staying in control.
