What makes you say this? How often are stupid teams fooled into overpaying players? Quite often, no? And the Dolphins haven’t exactly been very smart recently... They THINK they know what losing Landry would mean for them. Doesn’t mean they are right.

And I’m not trying to say I’m right about him, I really don’t know. He very well may have demanded $15M/yr on the open market and the Dolphins may end up paying him $13-14M/yr. Or maybe he would’ve only got $10M/yr on the open market. My point is really just that we don’t know and the Dolphins don’t know for sure either—they’re betting on it being the former.

D Jax went for $11M last year.

This year’s FA class isn’t very strong

Landry was going to be a top 3 sought after WR

10 teams have $40m+ cap space

This is how we know.

Landry is not bad and you comparing him to Fozzy really is unbelievably stupid. I think they’re overpaying him but very good players are overpaid all the time. Doesn’t mean they’re bad...

landry's very inefficient with his targets and does nothing to help his team.

in fact, the dolphins would actually be better if they got rid of him or at the very least not revolved their gameplan around him.

perhaps landry could be useful, but as a vaccum for all their targets he's even more inefficient than kelvin benjamin was for us.

Some of you are the same ppl who said Norman is just a system player.. He doesn't deserve more than 11 or 12mil.. Was shocked as hell when he got 17mil and said he was over paid..  Than watched our Secondary and system go to poo since he has been gone..lol

You do realize this happens every year, right? Jimmy G is getting more than Cam. This isn’t a good argument.

even so, i still don't believe an overglorified slot receiver deserves this much.

i've never got the landry love nor will i ever understand why he's so sought after, despite our experience with kelvin benjamin. i'm also surprised at the amount of panthers fans who defend him to the core.

needless to say, i have an unpopular opinion regarding him and i'm not going to change my mind.

I think you’re too hung up on “deserves” instead of analyzing the totality of the situation.

Stupid. He's a glorified slot receiver and worth probably about $10M/year at most.

This is the truth that people don't understand, he runs 75% of his snaps from the slot. The dolphins don't want to give him alot but this way they bought themselves some time. Tough situation.

Those are all factors to take into account, absolutely. Still doesn’t mean you “know.” It’s all a calculated guess, where the calculations could be very close or very far off.

And by most accounts, this is a very strong FA WR group overall. Several guys who could be legit #1s, several who are proven #2s and several who are proven #3s and potential #2s or #3s. And personally I’d take DeSean over Landry and I think at least some teams would as well. We, and the Dolphins, really don’t know how other teams view the situation.

Until he signs they can always rescind it too...
