Dibs on first offseason uniform thread this year

So someone on reddit is doing a series on team uniforms. Yesterday they did 'the awful' and the Bucs were dead last.

Today they did 'the bad' and unfortunately we made the list. While I don't necessarily 100% agree, I will say that this person makes some really good points:

I know I'm going to get a lot of hate from Panther fans on this one, but hear me out. The Panthers have a great logo and fantastic colors, but uniforms that are filled with design issues that don't take adantage of those things.

The biggest issue to me is the amount of Panther head logos used throughout the design. They have an oversized logo on the helmet, the exact same logo on the sleeves, and then again on the pants. If you're a team like the Eagles or Rams you can have your full team logo on your sleeves because you're using a different design on your helmet. With the Panthers it's extremely redundant.

There are some teams that still use the old Reebok template, but have updated their fabrics to Nike. The Panthers are one of only a couple teams that still use the Reebok template and even older fabrics. So you're presented with this super shiny, 90's basketball shorts style fabric for the Carolina blue that doesn't hold its shape when it's on the players. This means the shoulder stripes and pant stripes wildly change in thickness. It's not a good look.

The block numbers don't match any other part of the rounded design. It's something that is cool on an old school team, but not a team that came into the league in 1995. The center stripes on their helmet might have also been cool back in the 90's, but now they look weird and completely unnecessary with such a big helmet logo.

I commend the Panthers for sticking with basically the same look for as long as they have, but they would benefit greatly from a template change to provide some structure and removing redundant logos.

Fair points all around.

Anyway, talk amongst yourselves. I certainly don't want to talk about how Hurney will be GM for life any longer, it's too depressing.

I've always thought the head logo complaint was fair but the others are stupid.

Loading up on Nike pro combat garbage that is going to look laughably dated in 10 years isn't the right approach for anybody, much less a team that is trying to build its own legacy as a respectable, long tenured organization.

I genuinely think our uniforms are some of the cleanest in the league.

I don't think we necessarily need to do too much, just a small tweak here and there. Get rid of the panther that shows up everywhere, fix the stripe so it's more consistent across all bodies, and maybe fix the stripes on the helmet/pants.

Also make the helmets black. That's a must.

REFERRING TO THE AWFUL UNIS:

Call me crazy, but I like the Rams white horns on blue helmet with the white unis.   They are going to break TOTALLY away from the St; Louis Rams gold in 2019.

By the way, the Steelers and Packers should not wear the throwbacks.

The Patriots should go back to their red UCLA jerseys with the image.png.325986edd6e078e900d7931e2dfc46bd.png helmet.

The one they wear now looks like our helmet and I hate Brady.

In addition, Jax is getting rid of the two-tone helmet that looks as if they were torched in a kiln accident.

I think they are going to an all-gold helmet next year.

    • Honestly Bryce is a conundrum right now I'm not really sure what we should do with him but I am content on him being the quarterback number one going into next season. I think we should allow him the chance to play out the season to prove that he's the quarterback he can be going into next season.  I would not waste a high draft pick on a quarterback because I'm not sure anyone in this up and coming class is as good or has the ceiling that he had with that said I wouldn't throw away the future I would bring in someone like Justin Fields to have him looking over his shoulder and give us a plan b if everything doesn't go right on a one-year deal. I think the priority right now if tepper wants to make a big splash is find a way to get Travis Hunter that would be option 1AA because he helps with both sides of the field either way whatever you need defense or offense. Make that happen and then go mostly defense the rest of the way and we're cooking.
    • Move on from what?   Let me guess we gatekeeping on who we can and can't appreciate?   Next time I will just make a Kuechly appreciation thread lmao
