Rae Carruth Letter - breaking the silence

I believe in forgiveness if there is remorse, but there is NO remorse for him.  If you read the letter, the absolute most damning thing is his half hearted "apology".  To save everyone else the time, here it is.

Quote

Ms Adams, I want to sincerely apologize to you for the senseless act that led to the death of your daughter Cherica and the permanent mental and physical difficulties that Chancellor has to suffer through.  I cannot begin to imagine the hardship and sorrow that you've had to endure behind all of this, and I am sorry for every bit of it.  Having had time to look back and ponder on how the events of that Night Unfolded, I want you to know that I take full responsibility for everything.  I could have done a better job of keeping Cherica and Chancellor out of Harms way.  and it's something that will definitely weigh on me for the rest of my life...

OK, So heres where his apology is full of poo.  he says he's sorry for the senseless act that lead to the death (not taking credit for being the one who instigated the act, just sorry for the act).  He's sorry for her suffering.  He looked like he was gonna take credit and said he takes full responsibility for everything (good job, finally)...but then say "I could have done a better job keeping cherica and Chancellor out of harms way" making it seem like he's "blaming himself for everything that happened by not watching out or saving them".  He's painting himself as having some sort of survivors guilt which is complete horse poo.

If he was truly remorseful, then I'd feel bad, but since he's not, Rae Carruth can go fug himself sideways.

Death is final. How do you make that right

His son’s injuries are permanent. How do you make that right

The only person this guy is interested in is himself

I hear you man. What he did is vile and inexcusable. But he served his time and from the information I have gathered he wants to make it right. I can’t fault him for that.

Whats done, is done. But if Rae can make something of himself and better the people and world around him, then I would root for that.

Jesus teaches us forgiveness. He will have to answer for what he did one day.

I’m ignorant to the legality of how that would work. Would a judge honestly grant Rae the right to be sole custodian of a child that he was proven guilty of putting in harms way and killing the mother?

You'd be surprised. Especially if the grandmother gets to the point where she can no longer fully care for him.

I remember a case where a wife hired a hitman to murder her husband. She was caught and convicted. But her husband, the man she had tried to have killed, was ordered to bring their children to the prison once a month for visitation.

POS is wanting custody of the son he tried to murder and made special needs, took his life away.

Doubtful it’s anything to do with love, probably wants his disability check.

Maybe he and Casey Anthony can get together and comfortable so it’s easier to end them in one setting.

I hope those of you in this thread that seem to have so little room for forgiveness in your hearts never need that forgiveness or an opportunity for redemption.

I bet none of you are the same person you were 17 years ago.

17 years ago I didn't have a pregnant woman murdered.

What do people really want him to do, go off in the sunset after he gets out and have nothing to do with his kid?     Or actually try to be a father, in some capacity?   I'm not defending this guy, obviously, but what do people want him to do?

Go fug himself.

The man did the time the judge deemed appropriate.  Id say he has suffered the consequences.

But people on this board are wishing the man dead.

He did his time and I hope he can find some redemption in this world.
