Bro. Funchess was better this year than Alshon.  Trust me I wouldn't say outlandish things. Look at the stats too. Funchess out performed him I'm almost every category.

There's several WR in free agency that could help this offense. Some could instantly compete for that #2 spot with Funchess.  I just believe the overall quality isn't there. We have some guys that flashed but injuries and drops really separate them from others. I'm even considering Mike Wallace. He's got the speed we need. His hands have improved. I don't know of the Ravens will let him go since he's the only one that really had any chemistry with flacco.  Basically I'm just saying we're gonna have to find guys that will help Cam and Funchess. No true #1 but a lot of #2 and #3. Cam plays better spreading the ball around. Jury is out know Byrd and Samuel tho. 1 vet WR wouldn't hurt.

Funchess doesn't pass the eyeball test for me. Mediocre #2 wr, although he certainly has time to improve. Maybe Norv will have Funch running something other than comeback routes on the sideline every single play.

Agree 100% on the rest. Increase the overall WR talent on the team, not necesarily the talent of the first option. I'm hoping Samuel and Byrd can be that speed threat, although for some reason it seems like they are lacking in deep speed when they get on the field. I'm looking for a(some) well-rounded, #2 calibur guy(s) that can come in and get open.

I think the biggest question going into this off-season is whether Ron actually listens to Norv Turner... an actual REAL offensive coordinator.

Or will he be unwilling to budge and keep our offense in Shula-Mode

I don't see anything that indicates that he won't. I'm sure Norv let him know what he's going to do and what he can expect. Rivera wouldn't have done what he did in letting Shula go if he didn't want to listen to him and his plans.

Giving the benefit of the doubt on that...I would think that would have been discussed and settled before he agreed to come on board...

The biggest thing I notice when watching other teams, particularly Philly, is their WRs' ability to make contested catches. Seems like our guys rarely make a contested catch. KB was our guy for that that (but them he'd drop two wide open passes). Some of those catches the Eagles' receivers made in that SB just don't happen for the Panthers. Those are incomplete passes for us.

other teams also don't turn practice squad players into impact players. we should stop pretending to do this. We have one semi-legitimate receiver on this team and that's Funchess. Shepherd is a WR4 at best. Samuel is a rookie who is unproven due to health and at best i'd put as a WR3. Byrd is a practice squad speedster, same with Clay. We need a proven #1 a la mike wallace or jarvis landry to come in here and make a difference. Not people who just run hitch routes. I think Norv will have a lot of input on the type of players he wants. I agree with Philly, we have the possession/red zone receiver with Funchess, but we need a slot reciever and someone to spread the field THAT IS PROVEN. Not seeing how CMC does or if Samuel will work out. This will be Cam's 8th year and Luke's 7th, not to mention TD's last. I was hoping JR still didn't have any type of hold. We need new owners before free agency starts.

Due to their history together I think Ron has too much respect for Norv to do that and I think Norv is old enough and has enough money in the bank not to put up with that.

I really think this is truly going to be Norv Turner's offense.

We have a better version of Jeffery in Funchess.

As optimistic as I like to be... Don't kid yourself. Jeffrey made grown man catches all season long, especially in the Superbowl. Funchess gave a half assed effort to catch a pass that could have sent us to the divisional round. Jeffrey is by far the better receiver.

Mike Wallace and Moncerif is my 1st choice..

I like the combo of older vet who leads the room and adding a younger vet about to hit his prime.

Sign: Walace, Moncrief

Draft: Andrew Miller

Keep: Funchess, Samuel

Ain't too shabby
