Panthers continue to hold out for Hurney

Hindsight is 20/20. Our offense couldn’t move with KB, defenses were stacking the box, our running backs kept getting stuffed, Samuel was showing big play potential and Byrd was returning. It was the logical move to make.

Samuel showed nothing really.  Byrd returned several games after the trade.  There as nothing logical about it.

Maybe we will be better off without KB and the 3rd rounder works out, but I think we agree that for a team in the playoff hunt, it was short sighted and proved to be a real bad trade when Cam had to depend on a couple guys who couldn't catch the ball. Shepard and Clay dropped so many passes after Samuel and Byrd went on IR (#2 for Byrd), including that TD whiff/Ganope in the playoffs.

If Hurney is made the permanent GM, I hope they put some severe restrictions on him regarding trades.  To be honest, his drafting doesn't bother me, both him and Gettleman drafted better than their peers.  But when he makes trades for draft picks or players, I get nervous.
